ALL THE NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT ABOUT
PATRICK DOUGLAS MACKEY
And some news that's not fit, but mom and dad made me put it in here anyway
November 19, 2006;  Grayson, Kentucky
Patrick attends his first Skidmore
Thanksgiving.  Spent the weekend, Jeff
went hunting for the first time with Dave
and Troy, we are sad to report that HE
MISSED! So a deer still roams the woods
thanks to an inaccurate scope.  Better luck
next time.

November 07, 2006; Dunlap, Tennessee.  Patrick spends his first day with a
babysitter.  Our friend, Candice Morgan is the sitter of choice for the days that
both mom and dad have to work.  Candice has a child of her own that she keeps
with Patrick.

October 27, 2006; Douglasville, Georgia.  Patrick spends a few days at the
Mackey house in Douglasville with mom, grandmom and grandpa while dad is off
fishing with pawpaw Dave and mamaw Dee in Mississippi.  Patrick wishes he
could have attended the fun in the boat.  Dad drought back some fish for us,
Great Grandad fried up the fish for all of my family to have, I just wish I was old
enough to eat all that great smelling fish!
October 09, 2006; Huntington, West Virginia.  Patrick's second airplane trip
and first visit to West Virginia and Kentucky (
see Patrick's state map).  We
landed at the Huntington Tri-State airport (HTS) and then drove 20 minutes to
the Skidmore house in Grayson, KY.  This was Patrick's first visit to the Skidmore
house.
September 29, 2006; Albany, Georgia.  Patrick takes his first flight.  Today
also marks the first time Patrick has left Tennessee, his first trip to the Mackey
house in Douglasville, GA, and his first trip.  Patrick did very well during the trip,
sleeping most of the time.  Only until the Air Traffic Controllers in Atlanta made
dad fly the airplane all over the world while waiting for approach into Fulton
County airport (FTY).
November 23, 2006; Douglasville, Georgia.  Patrick's first Thanksgiving.
Dinner at the Donaldson's (his great grandparents).
November 25, 2006; Douglasville, Georgia.
Patrick attends the 60th wedding anniversary
(yes, you read correct, 60th anniversary) of his
Great grandparents, Fred and Irene Donaldson.
It was also his first time meeting all of his cousins
(Abby was absent because she was sick).  The
picture is the anniversary couple with great grand
children (left to right) Kate, Hayden, Patrick, and
Alayna.

kids
September 15, 2006;  Dunlap Tennessee.  Patrick takes the plunge for his
first bath, dutifully provided by his dad
September 04, 2006;  Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Patrick is born at Erlanger
hospital.  His dad in attendance at the delivery.  His grandparents Jim and Teresa
also at the hospital, arriving a mere 5 mins before delivery (Dr. Boyd was 5 mins
late).  Born at 4:45pm weighing 6lbs 10oz and 19.5" in length.  Named Patrick
Douglas Mackey
December 02, 2006; Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Patrick
visits his Great Grandmother Opal.  In a "surprise visit" that even
George W. Bush would be proud of, Patrick and his parents flew
to Winston-Salem airport and taken to Opal's house, where she
was expecting Uncle Lynn and Grandpa Dave to come back from
Lowe's with a saw, well it wasn't exactly a saw, but Opal was
much happier with the purchase.  The trip to Winston-Salem was
Patrick's first visit to North Carolina.
December 23, 2006; Grayson, Kentucky.  It's Christmas at the
Skidmore's.  As tradition, the Skidmore Christmas is held the
weekend before, Patrick joined all the family for his first
Christmas
December 25, 2006; Douglasville, Georgia.  Christmas is spent at Uncle
Philip's house with Teresa, Abby, Grandmom, Grandpa, and Also Abby's
grandparents Jim and Coleen.  The picture is Abby supervising Patrick playing
with the Christmas tree.  Before returning to Tennessee, Patrick spent Christmas
with the Donaldson Family, returning late in the evening of Dec 26 to home.
January 01, 2007; Dunlap, Tennessee.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Patrick stays
awake for his first New Year's celebration, complete with watching the ball drop
in New York on Fox News.  Patrick shared this holiday with his Grandma Alberta
and our Aunt Linda (we call her "our" aunt Linda because no one else will claim
her).  Aunt Linda peppers our Patrick with all sorts of "Ohio State Buckeyes"
garb.  EDITOR'S NOTE:  This garb becomes actually funny just a week later.
January 11, 2007; Hillsboro, Ohio.  The death of a family
friend, Mae Richmond (1938-2007) took us on short notice to
Ohio for the funeral.  It was entirely a day trip, spending less than
Six hours on the ground in Hillsboro.  The sad occasion does
mark Patrick's first trip to Ohio.
January 08, 2007.  Florida defeats the Ohio State Buckeyes
in the College National Championship football game.  Aunt
Linda, what exactly did you say about the Buckeyes being
the dominant team?  Patrick told me to burn that silly red
shirt pictured at right.  When are those silly yankees going to
learn that northern football is just no match for southern
football, especially the SEC!
January 15, 2007; Chattanooga, Tennessee.  HERNIA SURGERY
SUCCESSFUL.  Patrick had two openings in his abdomen that were producing
a hernia.  Both have now been successfully closed.  Two incisions, about 3/4"
in length each, Dr. Kelley said that the scars should not be noticeable.  The
hernias have been bothering Patrick lately, a trip to the ER on 1/13/2007
happened because of his discomfort.  The entire surgery took less than an
hour (approx 50 minutes).  The picture on the left was taken of Patrick in his
hospital gown, about 15 minutes before the surgery.  Patrick should be back to
normal in a few hours and the only restriction is no baths for three days.
February 01, 2002; Dunlap, Tennessee.
 Patrick's first significant snowfall.  About
an inch of snow fell at our house.  The
snow was all melted away by lunch time,
but it was nice while it lasted.
